Discover U by Uterinekind, a patient-focused app designed to help reduce the amount of time it takes to get a menstrual or womb health diagnosis.

    Uterinekind app information on phones

For eight years, Carol Johnson, Founder and CEO of Uterinekind, helped medical device companies create patient and physician content on disease awareness and minimally invasive procedures designed to treat the root causes of chronic conditions.

Her market research found patients lack knowledge of their bodies and believe their โ€œbad periodsโ€ are normal. This lack of education puts them at a disadvantage when attempting to advocate for their healthcare in a system that has been proven to dismiss symptoms, including catastrophic pain.

The Uterinekind team therefore decided to work for patients rather than device companies by directly helping them have productive conversations with their doctor, with full understanding of the options available and control over their symptoms data.

Building towards the future of uterine health

As a result, U by Uterinekind was built: an app that makes it easy to record detailed period symptoms daily, and visualizes that data for the member and their care teams to expedite a diagnosis.

Uterinekind Senior Medical Advisor, Dr. Evelyn Mitchell with the Keck School of Medicine at USC, states: โ€œ90% of our diagnosis comes from your symptoms data.โ€ That means the symptoms story a patient communicates is the evidence care teams need to get to the right diagnosis quickly.

Empowering patients to advocate for themselves

With U by Uterinekind, the patient simply hands over a symptoms summary report that has been vetted by physicians. Members are also more confident advocating for their needs; because they are educated on conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, and others.

By using the app to spot trends in their symptoms and become educated on conditions, their anatomy, and modern treatments, they are in tune with their body and less likely to let symptoms progress. For those who canโ€™t easily get to a doctor, the data can be addressed via telemedicine.

The goal of the app is to reduce the amount of time it takes to get a diagnosis, which benefits physicians and patients.

Uterinekind is more than an app, itโ€™s also a mission. Uterinekind donates 10% of all membership fees to its partner labs.

Price: Memberships include a 7-day free trial, then an option of $3.99/month or $39.99/year.
